In 1970 Keith James Russel and Ian Clifford Garbutt had a business idea of importing specialist North American Indian moccasins to the UK market. The idea proved to be a good one and putting together the two middle names of the two partners Clifford James was born. The footwear was extremely comfortable and it became clear that British public needed comfortable footwear at value for money prices. Acquired by the BVG-Airflo Group Ltd in August 2004 the company continues to go from strength to strength. Although the acquisition has seen continued improvements to the way Clifford James operates, it has not lost sight of what has made Clifford James one of the UK's leading companies, namely quality, value for money and award winning service.
