BVG Airflo Group Ltd is a multi channel retailer
operating in three principle markets; Footwear, Sporting
goods and Home and Garden.
Established in 1991, by Iain Burgess, the business first
distributed a range of quality special interest videos
through targeted publications. The business developed
rapidly and within a couple of years had diversified
into software distribution. In order to offset the prohibitive
marketing costs BVG began promoting its products through
innovative reader offers. By 1995 BVG's reader offer
activities had become so successful that they became
a business in their own right and the product range that
BVG promoted through these offers literally exploded
from which came a number of successful spin off businesses.
In 1996 BVG acquired Airflo, a fly fishing tackle company.
Airflo's innovative, internationally patented products
were a perfect compliment to BVG's marketing techniques.
The launch of the Fishtec mail-order operation in 1997
and subsequent acquisition of it's competitor Tightlines
Direct completed the group's 1st phase acquisition plans.
In September 04 BVG Airflo acquired Esher mail-order
limited trading under the name of Clifford James. Clifford
James is the established market leader in the mail-order
of leather footwear products and compliments BVG Airflo's
business in many ways.
The group continues to dominate its three core markets
with sales derived from mail-order, distribution,
ecommerce, export and retail. Heavy investment in bespoke
technology, infrastructure and the team of 250 highly
motivated, dedicated and skilled staff continues. BVG
Airflo’s sales have grown rapidly with the group
reporting £36m turnover and a £3.7m pre tax
profit in 2006.
We relish in the prospects of continued rapid growth.
Whilst our focus will always remain on our four core
business activities these can be interpreted in different
ways. We will anticipate and react quickly to changes
in our marketplace capitalizing on the opportunities
and technological advances ensuring we achieve our aggressive
but sustainable growth targets.
